Annual Geology Festival

Bryce Canyon’s Geology Festival (GeoFest) is scheduled for Friday, July 15 and Saturday, July 16, 2022. Join park rangers for guided hikes, family-friendly geology programs, bus tours with a geologist, evening programs with special guest speakers, as well as exhibits and family oriented activities at the visitor center.

Schedule for both days of the 2022 Festival:

Hoodoo Geology Hike
8:30 am – 11:30 am
Group size limited – free ticket required;

Obtain at Visitor Center Front Desk.
What are the hoodoos and how are they formed?
Join a geologist for a moderate 3–mile hike into the canyon.
Hiking shoes / boots and water bottle required!

Mossy Cave Hike
9:00 am – 10:30 am

Group size limited – free ticket required;

Obtain at Visitor Center Front Desk.
Join a geologist for an easy 1-mile round-trip hike.
Hiking shoes / boots and water bottle required!

Visitor Center Plaza Booths
10:00 am – 3:00 pm

Visit the booths on the Visitor Center Plaza. Enjoy fun and educational
activities for kids and adults of all eras.

Rim Walk
5:30 pm – 6:30 pm at Sunset Point

Join a geologist for a leisurely 1-mile round-trip walk along the
rim of Bryce Canyon.
